Mikhail Larionov

Mikhail Fyodorovich Larionov was born at Tiraspol, near Odessa. He took the leadership role of the Russian avant-garde. He followed the latitudinous path.

In his early works, he drew fauvism paintings. In 1907, neo-primitive style emerged. In 1913, he created Rayonism, which was the first creation of near-abstract art in Russia. Rayonism integrated Cubism, Futurism, and Orphism. But Rayonism was short-lived.

In 1915, Mikhail Larionov moved to Paris. He worked with the ballet owner Sergei Diaghilev.
