Francis Picabia

Francis Picabia was a French painter. He was born in Paris. He studied at an artistic school of Paris. His teacher was Fernand Cormon. He had drawn impressionistic paintings until 1908. After that, he was influenced by fauvism and cubism.

In 1913 Picabia stayed in New York for three months to attend the Armory Show and to establish artistic school. He was influenced by the Armory Show.

After this, he became an enthusiast of dadaism, but he pulled out of it over a short amount of time. He converted to Surrealism. In the 1930s, he drew representational paintings. After World War II, he drew abstract painting again.
